About Me

So you clicked on this page to learn more about me. Cool. *Virtual Hug*

I think the best way for you to really understand this so called “Elora Allen” on an intimate level is for me to introduce you to a friend of mine. His name, you may ask…is Rasta.

Rasta the Rooster.

So, yeah that’s him. Kind of a gangly guy isn’t he? Well, that Rastafarian chicken/man had a huge impact on my young mind. Which speaking of, explains a lot of my early twenties. My mom first brought home E-I-E-I Yoga on VHS back in the golden year of 1996. That is when my #yogajourney truly began. Throughout my childhood, I would pop in the video cassette and get my stretch on whenever I could.

In my later years, meaning my early teens- I drifted away from yoga, but somehow always knew I would return. I attended classes with my mom here and there, had DVD box sets, and eventually evolved to watching Youtubers and using Yoga Apps (my favorites are Downdog and YogaStudio). It wasn’t until I came to Thailand in 2015 that I got more attuned with the physical practice again.

In August of 2016, I made the decision to become a Yoga Teacher. I researched several trainings throughout Thailand and finally made a selection. In March 2017, I attended the All Yoga Ashtanga Vinyasa Teacher Training on Koh Phangan. My mom, who obviously had a huge impact on my yoga journey, always hinted at my natural ability and insisted I should become certified.

It was one of the best decisions of my life. I learned that yoga is not only about the physical daily practice of beautiful and challenging poses; it is about mastering the mind, the breath, and the spirit. Yoga is a lifestyle that I always knew I wanted, and now it is a lifestyle that I will never give up.

The mat is my home, and I carry the universe in my pocket. I would carry it in my dreadlocks if I embodied Rastas full form. But alas, I am merely a follower in the great footsteps of Rasta the Rooster.

Stay zen, my friends.
